### Why This Upgrade Is Required

We've released an important update to ActionableAgile® Analytics that brings new features, better performance, and improved security.

### For Users of ActionableAgile

> ℹ️ *This section is for you if you ****use**** ActionableAgile*®* Analytics but are ****not**** a Jira site admin.*

#### How Do I know if My Version is Outdated?

If you see a **banner inside the app** telling you to upgrade, you're on an outdated version. You don't need to do anything yourself, your Jira Admin handles the upgrade.

#### What Should I Do?

Send your Jira admin this message:

> *"Hi! Our team needs to upgrade the ActionableAgile® Analytics app in Jira ASAP, or we'll lose access to new features and support. Please go to Manage Apps and approve the upgrade? It only takes a minute. Thanks!"*

#### What Happens if the Upgrade Isn't Done?

- ⚠️ Some features may stop working. For the oldest versions, the app may stop working altogether.
- 🚫 New features will not be available.
- 🛠 Support will no longer be provided for the outdated version.

### For Jira Admins

> ℹ️ *This section is for ****Jira site administrators**** who manage apps for your organization.*

#### How to Upgrade

1. Go to **Jira → Manage Apps → ActionableAgile® Analytics**
2. Click **Upgrade** if prompted
3. Review the scope changes and confirm

That's it! No reinstallation or data migration is required, just approve the new version.

#### How to Identify Outdated Versions

Check your version number in **Manage Apps** and compare:

| **Version Format** | **Description** | **End of Support** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `1.x.x-AC` (e.g. `1.2.4-AC`) | Older Connect-based version | 9/15/2025 |
| `2.x.x` (e.g. `2.2.0`) | “Connect-on-forge” version | 10/31/2025 |
| `3.0.0` or above | Forge-remote version (latest) | N/A - Current ✅ |

#### What Happens If You Don’t Upgrade

- :warning: Some functionality may stop working. For the most outdated versions, the app may stop working altogether.
- 🚫 New features will not be available.
- 🛠 We will no longer provide support for the outdated version.
- 🔒 Your team may experience degraded app behavior over time.

#### Why Does the Upgrade Require New Permissions (Scopes)?

We've moved ActionableAgile® Analytics from Atlassian's older **Connect** framework to the new **Forge** platform. This transition brings improved performance, enhanced security, and new features - but it requires **new scopes**. The new scopes supports:

- Compatibility with Atlassian’s modern **Forge** hosting platform
- Enhanced **data residency** options for global compliance
- Improved privacy protections and performance

> ℹ️ **Data residency:** All data is stored in **Stockholm, Sweden**, by default.   
> ℹ️ New customers can choose their data residency to be either in the US (North Virginia), Australia (Sydney), or Sweden (Stockholm).
