We've added a small but mighty new feature to Portfolio Forecaster - **Forecast Scheduling** - here’s what you need to know. 👇 > Macro (toc) ## What is Forecast Scheduling? Forecast Scheduling allows you to automate the generation of forecasts for your projects or teams. Instead of running forecasts manually, the admins of a forecast can now set up a schedule so that your forecasts are updated automatically every weekend - helping you and your stakeholders always stay up to date. ## Why Use Forecast Scheduling? - **Save Time:** No more manual forecast runs - let the system do it for you. - **Stay Current:** Always have the latest forecast data ready for your weekly meetings or reports. - **Reduce Errors:** Automated scheduling ensures forecasts are run consistently, reducing the risk of missed updates. ## How it works > ℹ️ - Only admins of a group forecast can turn the scheduling on and off. > ℹ️ - Everyone who can view the group forecast gets automatic updates. ### **How to set it up - Step-by-step guide** **Go to your forecast:** Navigate to the group forecast you want to schedule. **Open the scheduler:** In the top right corner, click the three dots and then ‘Schedule Forecast’. This will open a pop-op window with the scheduler. **Turn the scheduler on:** Click the toggle to ‘Enable weekly forecast generation’. This will make the forecast run automatically every weekend (sometime between Friday evening to Sunday evening). **Save:** Press save. A text will appear that states when the next forecast will be generated. ![Screenshot 2025-07-14 at 14.43.53.png](media://e7fe0afc-7283-4c26-b8f4-89c9605e9a1c) **Finish**: Close the window by clicking the cross, ‘cancel’ or just somewhere outside the popup window. > ℹ️ **Done!** Your group forecast is now scheduled to run every weekend! > ✅ ### Tips & tricks from the team > ✅ > ✅ - **Verify results:** After the scheduled run, compare the new forecast with previous results to ensure everything is working as expected. > ✅ - **Keep data updated:** Make sure your stories and epics are up to date for the most accurate forecasts. > ✅ - **Communicate changes:** Let your team know when forecasts are scheduled to update, so everyone is aligned. ## Frequently Asked Questions **Who can set up forecast scheduling?** Only forecast **admins** can configure scheduling for a group forecast. **Can I schedule forecasts more frequently than weekly?** Currently, scheduling is limited to a **weekly** frequency. More flexible options may be available in future updates. **Will I be notified when a forecast is updated?** **Notification** options are planned for future releases. For now, check your forecast after the scheduled run.
