[Jira cloud]

You can add key ActionableAgile® Analytics charts directly to your Jira Cloud Dashboards as Gadgets. These Gadgets make it easy to **share live, actionable insights **with your **team** and **stakeholders** - no extra logins or manual exports required.

- Instantly visualise your team’s flow metrics alongside other Jira data.
- Keep stakeholders informed with always up-to-date charts.
- Reduce manual reporting and increase transparency.

These gadgets look just like the corresponding charts do in the ActionableAgile® Analytics app.

They will display data according to the dataset and view chosen in the configuration, and will update automatically whenever that dataset or view is changed. The way to change any settings of the gadget, is thus to change the settings of the view, which is done in the app.

### Available Gadgets

We’re launching four new powerful gadgets, each focused on a key flow metric - together with an updated version of our Cycle time Summary gadget.

### Adding a Gadget

> ℹ️ You need to have Edit permissions for a Dashboard in order to do this.

### Using the Gadgets

- **Hover for Details:** Mouse over any data point to see the date and the metric for that day (WIP, throughput, cycle time, age).
- **Click** on any data point to open a Jira filter with the work items included in that data point.
- **Zoom:** Use built-in controls to zoom in on specific time periods or data clusters.
- **Moving average/trend**: Disabled by default. Click the label below the chart to enable it.

> ℹ️ This does not apply to the Cycle Time Summary Gadget, which is read-only just like before.

### Gadget Settings

**Gadget settings always reflect the configuration of the selected view of a dataset. **

> ℹ️ To change the chart settings of a gadget, you must update the view in the ActionableAgile® Analytics app itself, and only someone with owner access to that view can make changes.

**As a Dashboard viewer**, if you need a different chart configuration, ask the owner of the view to update the settings in the ActionableAgile Analytics app. Once the view is updated there, the gadget will automatically reflect those changes on your dashboard.

This ensures your dashboard always shows consistent, up-to-date analytics, and that view configurations remain secure and controlled by designated owners.

### Permissions & Sharing

#### Jira Dashboard

- **Only users with Edit permissions for a Dashboard** can add and configure gadgets.
- **Dashboard Viewers** can only view the dashboard gadgets.

#### ActionableAgile® Analytics

- **Dataset and View Access:** You must have access to the underlying dataset and view in ActionableAgile Analytics in order to see the chart. If you don’t, you will get an error message: ‘Permission issue’.
- **Automatic Updates:** When a view is updated by an administrator in ActionableAgile Analytics, those changes are automatically reflected in the dashboard gadgets.
- **Permission Changes:** If your Jira permissions change (for example, if you lose access to a project), your access to related datasets and views in ActionableAgile Analytics will be updated accordingly, thus your access to see the dashboard gadgets.

If you need access to a specific view or want to request changes, please contact your Jira or dataset administrator.

### Error Messages

#### Permission Issue

The user is lacking permissions to 1) the dataset, or 2) the specific view selected.

### Best Practices

- **Curate your dashboard:** Only add gadgets that tell a clear story for your audience.
- **Keep it simple:** Too many charts can overwhelm - focus on the metrics that matter most.
- **Review permissions:** Ensure stakeholders have access to the right datasets for a seamless experience.

**Tip:** You can add multiple gadgets to the same dashboard, each with different data sets or views.
